Yesterday I made a sympathy card and this was the inside. I liked the look of the leaves and decided to do a stepped up version of the same layout when I saw today's Ways to Use It Challenge. The local schools are cancelled for the low temps today (currently 5) so I'm definitely in the cool category and blues are my faves anyway! I started by stamping the leaves at the top in Smoky Slate then at the bottom stamped again without reinking. I did the opposite with Bayou Blue. I sponged Bayou Blue over the whole card leaving white space for the sentiment and then Not Quite Navy along the edges. I had cut a piece of dp yesterday and didn't use it and also had a leftover piece of Texurz plate embossed NQN. I punched a circle of sticky sheet and use ribbon and glue dots to roll some mini roses. I also cut some scrap denim (from those jeans my kids just plain wear out) for leaves. I had evenly cut that NQN piece but when I saw the picture, I went back and tore it instead and it looks much better!

Lovely card..the shades of blue are so pretty and subdued..they work great for a sympathy card..and that saying is perfect, very comforting. Love the hand made flowers and clever use of denim... Stay warm!
