This is a second card I made for today's sketch challenge with a great sketch from Janette. I needed to make a sympathy card for some friends who just lost their little 6 year old boy. He had severe brain damage after being born with the cord wrapped tightly around his neck and they have cared for and loved him so well over the years they've had him with them. He had the most beautiful blue eyes so I wanted to use blues on my card. I had this beautiful, embossed felt and used that for my main panel. I cut my circle then stamped off Smoky Slate and Bayou Blue ink for my leaves and stamped the sentiment in Slate without stamping off. I sponged the Bayou Blue around the whole circle and Not Quite Navy just around the edges. I layered this over a die cut and embossed Nestabilities Circle in a darker grey. I embossed a piece of NQN with the Distressed Texturz plate and used that behind my circle. I skipped the lower panel of the sketch (#2) as I wanted to show as much of the pretty felt as I could! I added a grey taffeta bow keeping the ends long to extend over more of the card. The inside is stamped with the same leaves.

I'm so sorry for your friends. What a terrible thing to go through. Your card is beautiful. I like how you did the blue because of his eyes. That felt is amazing. I don't think I have ever seen textured felt anywhere.
