This is a special valentine for my sons - so I have to make another one. The purple heart card that I made first just didn't work for me, so I did something completely different. I'm not very good with masculin cards, so my teenage sons don't mind that my cards are a little "soft". They have saved every card I've made them since they were little. I started by covering the large card with rust print paper. After die cutting the large rectangle I used the paper trimmer to straighten the cardstock that I cut the rectangle from. Sponged the edges with tea die ink. Sponged the edges of the inside rectangle with walnut then tea die distress ins and glued both down. Printed the heart off the computer and colored with copics and prisma pencils and mineral spirits. Attached with pop dots. Cut a srcond rectangle and cut out just the corners attached with the feathers and button. Added pearls and sentiment typed on the computer.

How wonderful that your sons save the cards that you have made them. They will become true treasures as the years go by. This card is GORGEOUS!! Love the warm glow that emanates for your color choices and soft shading.

This is a really nice looking valentine!!! I love the way you colored the heart with the copics. Tea dies are another thing I could add to my list I guess. I think it is so nice that you made valentine's for your sons.
