I fell in love with BeckyTe's card in the card samples and had to try to mimic it. Mine isn't nearly as bright as hers, but this is what I came up with. The picture doesn't do it real justice. The bg is a darker teal color.
This is how I made it. I stamped the flower and colored it with prismas. Then I cut it out and outlined where it would lay on my card. Then I chalked around it in taken w/teal chalk. Then I stamped with an SU! splatter stamp in marvelous magenta and night of navy. I glued my flower down and then mounted it on the navy blue bg. TA DA! I really enjoyed this challenge. I do like your card!! The idea to mask an area for sponging is a great technique - I will have to remember that one. Mimic, or imitation, is the best form or flattery they say and I am honored that you wanted to case one of my cards. Thanks for playing the challenge this week.
