This is my card for this weekÂ’s CC460. Becky is our hostess and she has chosen some rich tones with rich razzleberry, island indigo and night of navy. Our dessert this week is splatters.
I started with my card layout, which is this weekÂ’s MojoMonday 327 sketch. I decided to use the island indigo as my main color to create more of a masculine card. My brotherÂ’s birthday is coming up next week.
The bg dsp is from SU’s “venetian romance” collection. I thought this pattern looked the dessert option Becky is asking for. The long rectangle layer is more SU dsp “world spectacular” collection. I added a border die to this panel with Verve’s scallop trio” die.
On the image panel, I used the SU set “gorgeous grunge” to add some bg splatters in rich razzleberry. The balloons are from the party this way set. I stamped in night of navy and cut the balloon streamers from navy cardstock.
Punched a few rich razzleberry hearts from a spellbinders die to complete my card. Hope you can play along with us this week. You may be our next color challenge favorite.
We have a new board on Pinterest where we are posting our samples plus the CC fave of the week. Check it out here.

Terrific b'day card, Mary, with today's colors. Love the Venetian bg and you used the colors in a way to make a wonderful masculine card for your brother.

I see that spectacular mojo sketch!! I love your balloons and how you were able to use dp. I am trying to make that my goal, but I just couldn't on this challenge. I thought these colors were good for a masculine card too. I really like your bg!! :>)

This is a perfect masculine card for your brother, Mary! I love the bg dp, and as you said, it does look like splatters! I also like the numbered dp for your balloons; so appropriate for the occasion~
