What an awesome challenge today is since I have truly been resolving to figure out what I could do better for 2014. When it comes to crafting, I have three goals. One is to make more cards that are not only for Birthdays but to encourage others...there are so many in need of encouragement. This card is my first to begin meeting this goal.
I created this card with the ODBD Lavender, ODBD Joy in a Jar cut out with the ODBD Antique Labels and borders dies, ODBD Ornate Border Sentiments, and ODBD Decorative Corners dies.
The edge is embossed with silver embossing powder. The lavender is masked and stamped four times to create a field of lavender and cut with copics. The image panel is also dry embossed with a provocraft foliage embossing folder that has embossing only one side. The borders along on the bottom are created with the ODBD Antique Labels and Borders dies and the Spellbinders Floral Doily Accents.
Thanks for an awesome challenge Michelle!! Thanks for looking all!!

Oh Chris I totally agree that so many need encouragement. I think the unexpected card makes the most impact. I love this new set and am anxiously waiting for mine to arrive. Love how you've added the silver EP to the edges. Happy New Year to you and yours!

Chris, this is just beautiful. I love the lavender - I didn't have time for the blog hop but I spotted it in the release email yesterday, and it's a flower I just love. And with your beautiful white setting - it reminds me of visiting an abbey down in the south of France where there were fields of lavender around the pale stonework of the abbey buildings.

What a gorgeous card to start the new year with Chris!! I love the lavender and the beautiful corner treatment. I like your idea to encourage others more. It is so true that everyone needs encouragement whether they let on to it, or not.
This is beautiful. What a lovely goal Chris. I too try to send encouraging cards. It amazes me how it lifts someone's spirits to get a card for no reason. Happy New Year!

Beautiful! Love the use of the ODBD corner to balance this card so perfectly. The flowers are so pretty - love the color and the attention to detail, right down to the bottom scallop, and pearls.
