OH, I just LOVE saying that!! Especially since it has only been two years since I quit pronouncing it "Pee-oh-nee" and got it right. I would say 'teeny, weeny peony' to remind myself how to say it. Of course, I would advise that if you choose to use my Mnemonics trick, only say it in your head...especially if your husband is around. I'm really ready for Spring. I want my flowers to come out-especially my beloved roses-and allow me to enjoy the 15 or 20 minutes I get before the effing bugs start chewing them up and I choose the nuclear option to get rid of them. When I was young, I loved Junebug season! You could catch them and tie strings around them and they'd fly around above your head. Now, I load the end of the hose with poison and shoot them in the air and scream with hysterical laughter when they fall out of the sky. I point at the fallen bug and make it a point to use it as an example to the rest. "You see this? You little &%&&^, I've got enough sh*t to wipe out your GRANDCHILDREN!!!! Get OUT OF MY YARD!!!" You know, I'm not kidding that-as I was writing this-my heart rate jumped. Crap. I have to go take another blood pressure pill. Wow. Talk about some gardening PTSD. WOW!

Carmen, I have to start checking out your gallery every day just to read your hysterically funny comments. Wow, your card is BEAUTIFUL and halleluiah it has no chance of bugs because I am pretty sure that bug spray would not be a very good crafting supply - it may actually work well as a distressing medium but the after effects would not be so good.... uh what a thought. Any hoo, back to your card, the rose is gorgeous - very well done. Hugz!

Love your peony and HATE june bugs!!! But where are the ants ???? Your peony cannot open unless it has ants on it to eat the waxy covering off......... I TOO am so ready to have my garden come back to life. It's being covered by snow AGAIN today... boo hoo :( Love your take on the sketch.

A very beautiful card. I love how you sponged the edges of your "skinny whinny peony". I have to say the Peony is pronounced several different ways depending on what part of the country you are in. I have heard it called "Piney", Penny and peeony. I know the spellings are wrong, but I spelled them the way they sound. I will call that "fun with phonics". LOL

TINA!!! I don't actually HAVE peony's...yet. But I've been saying that I need to ask you about a breed of rose I have!! My addy (and EVERYONE is welcome to use this, of course-most of you have it-or should [email protected] and I'd love to get your email and send a pic. I'm coming to you first because of the easy SCS moniker of 'Garden Dive'. As to ants...no freaking problem here in NC...I've got enough to share with the entire midwest. Sigh. Susie...You're close to me! Come down and craft and I'm going to pretend I'm as funny in person but don't believe it. heh heh. Oh, NANCY!!! Allow me to replay the tape...
