I loved the site Audrie brought us to today and hope to have time after other commitments to make another card. While DH had a lie-in this morning, I made this card inspired by Travelling Between Eternities on the Paintings page - have added painting title as the link appears to go to the overall paintings page.
I loved the warm colours and while I knew I had perfect papers, I wanted to create my own. For the top, I sponged the white card with Scattered Straw and then stamped in the same colour with Gradation.
For the bottom I sponged white card with Wild Honey, smeared on some gesso and then stamped Reverse Damask with Brushed Corduroy.
The bird was stamped on watercolour paper in Versafine Sepia and coloured with distress inks. I used my fingers to lightly add colour with Weathered Wood in the background and then partially stamped with Linen, also in Weathered Wood. I wanted a light mat layer for it, so I cut a square from acetate packaging, embossed it with Textile ef, and smeared it with gold acrylic paint. When dry I wiped over it with brown StazOn.
I added stitching and a sentiment from Verve. Originally I'd been going to add a sympathy sentiment, but I was thinking of the F4A challenge I used yesterday (Nothing Gold Can Stay), and I was contrasting that with the fact that faith, hope and love remain.
Card base was painted with gold and wiped over with brown ink.
Base was painted with the gold acrylic,

Love how you made your own DSP! All the textures and colors beautifully capture the spirit of the inspiration site so nicely! Thanks so much for taking the challenge today and for inspiring us in turn!

Sabrina, this should be framed and in a gallery of its own. At first I thought you had used some fancy shaded vellum for the square panel behind your bird. But what you achieved with acetate is amazing. Absolutely stunning and into my faves :-). TFS.

Well, I should have known that you would do a bird as well!! We love birds, don't we??? Anyway, Love your rendition and the way you framed your bird with an embossed frame. Wish I had thought about that! Ah well, so I love your made papers, your sewing around the outside edges and your sweet bird PLUS the embossed frame!!! Beautiful Sabrina!
