Given to guests at a church-sponsored Christmas Tea. .my table was decorated in a western/cowboy theme. The rustic nature is intentional to contrast with the splendor of our God, Emmanuel. . .God with us:
Thou Who Wast Rich Beyond All Splendor
Thou who wast rich beyond all splendor,
All for loveÂ’s sake becamest poor;
Thrones for a manger didst surrender,
Sapphire-paved courts for stable floor.
Thou who wast rich beyond all splendor,
All for loveÂ’s sake becamest poor.
Thou who art God beyond all praising,
All for loveÂ’s sake becamest man;
Stooping so low, but sinners raising
Heavenward by thine eternal plan.
Thou who art God beyond all praising,
All for loveÂ’s sake becamest man.
Thou who art love beyond all telling,
Saviour and King, we worship thee.
Emmanuel, within us dwelling,
Make us what thou wouldst have us be.
Thou who art love beyond all telling,
Saviour and King, we worship thee.

They're beautiful! Love the rustic nature. Thanks for sharing the song - what powerful words!

Oh, Jan Marie, what rich words in this song; such a wonderful reminder that God is truly with us!! I just love the western/cowboy theme, and I'm sure these were a big hit at the tea! I just love that little manger. Hugs, precious friend!
