Elisa posted a fabric sewn snips holder here:Fabric Scissors Holder by ebreck at Splitcoaststampers
having just purchased a nice pair of Solingen Germany hair scissor for my gd for Christmas, I decided to try my hand at making a sewn paper holder for them.
I don't have the SU cone die (retired) so I folded a piece of heavy old SU designer paper in half and cut out a heart measuring 6 1/2". I folded down one side, opened back up and sewed around the curve, folded back down and sewed around the entire cone shape.
This was not easy task, I tried using my Janome Mini with heavy carpet-button thread, bent the needle, which broke the plastic presser foot and jammed the bobbin gear. I took the machine apart, and could not figure out how to fix the bobbin, the upper thread will no long catch the bobbin thread. (Off the the repair shop). After fiddling around for about an hour, I had to resort to using my Bernina. I did not even try to continue with the heavy thread and resorted to using regular weight thread.
