I have to share this sweet story...
My aunt is 87 and suffering from Alzheimers. My uncle who is 85 does much of her care. He is often sad and overwhelmed and I try to do what I can. Today I went to sit with her while he went to a doctor's appt. Knowing she would sleep most of the time I took some stamped images to watercolor while there.
When he got home I had just finished coloring the image in the other card I am uploading and I showed it to him. He seemed interested so I asked if he would like to color one. I showed him how to use the aquapainter with marker ink scribbled on a CD. He colored this image and seemed to really enjoy doing it. I can't tell you how happy it made me! I came home and stamped the BG to make it into this card. I will take it to him tomorrow. He's never done any watercoloring before - just a little bit of tole painting. I think he did such a great job! I'm super proud! Thanks for looking!

Must be my pms week...your story made me cry!! My Dad was sooo very lonely when my Mom passed away, and I can imagine that your uncle must feel quite lost sometimes, its an overwhelming job caring for someone you love who is not quite themselves. My Dad looked after my Mom the whole time she suffered from cancer, right up til her last days when she finally went into the hospital. It really took its toll on him.
I think its great your Uncle was able to just pick up the aqua painter and paint away. Maybe he will do more?? Its great therapy......:-)
How sweet of you to finish it up and take it to him tomorrow. Stories like yours remind us all that there's lots of good still in the world, even on a not so bright day!! Its the little things that count.....
