I've been sick and haven't been able to participate in any challenges recently, but when I saw today's Way's to Use It challenge was about our favourite books, I just had to upload a card - I'm passionate about books, I get just as excited about a library or bookstore as I do a craft store. There are stacks of books beside my bed, and bookcases all over the house. And it was no contest for me which book to feature - The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, my all time favourite childhood book. I cried buckets when I finished the last of the whole series at 11 years old, I could not believe they had come to an end! Much of the book is about how the White Witch has put the whole of Narnia under the spell of a long winter, and there are all kinds of winter animals involved. This is also for the Flourishes Beautiful World Tour for the month of December. I used post-it-notes to mask the snow banks and Ranger Enamel Accents for the stars or snowflakes, haven't decided which.

How beautiful, Bridget. I'm sorry you've been sick - I hope you're well on the way to being better now.
I love those books too - in fact, we have both a paperback set and the large beautifully colour-illustrated hardback version. I had a map on my wall when I was about 9 or 10, poster size, and even though my dad mounted it on hardboard for me, in the end it just got too shabby to keep. Sniff. It had all the stories on it!
Stars, to me, by the way. For me, if they were snowflakes the bigger ones would be at the bottom, and then the card wouldnt' have that feeling of wide open space.

Wihat a peaceful winter scene, Bridget...a true work of {HE}art!!! With the lightest of hand you have transformed the white card stock into great beauty, just as C S Lewis carried so many into the beauty and adventure of Narnia. This card is stunning!

Oh CS Lewis, we love you. only thing missing in your beautiful card is the lamp post! One of my favorite authors is JRR Tolkien and he and Lewis were great friends.

I, too, love that book, Bridget! My son's teacher was reading it to her class, and that caught my interest, so I bought the whole series. Your snow scene is phenomenal! I love those beautiful snow drifts and of course the star of the card, standing so majestic~
