The current ODBD challenge is to use 3 or more squares or circles, excluding layers. This was just what I needed to get going on a card for our pastor's 70th birthday next month. When I was trying to find something to finish it off with, I took my inspiration from the leaves in Toni's gorgeous Cornucopia inspiration photo.
This is quite a big card, 6 1/2" x 7 1/2", and the colour of the base was dictated by what cardstock I had that would be strong enough to support it!
I used a whole bunch of ODBD sets, plus SU's Canvas and the bee from In Full Bloom.
Scripture verses stamped on white card and then embossed with the TH brick wall ef inked with Weathered Wood.
I made a collage background layer - shame most of it got covered! For that I used It is Well With My Soul, Psalm 23, Honeycomb, Keep My Lamp Burning, and the SU bee. Inks used: Peeled Paint, Wild Honey, Scattered Straw, Stormy Sky, Old Paper, Soot Black, Tea Dye, Vintage Photo.
The sentiment is from SNSS, sponged with Scattered Straw and Tea Dye, and with Canvas stamped in Tea Dye. After folding the banner it looked a bit bare at the ends, so that was when I started out trying to find something to add. Buttons didn't look right, so I used some IO leaf dies cut from watercolour paper, misted and pressed into various inkpads. I added two half-pearls to finish it off.
Lots of visual metaphors here which I think R will enjoy.

Oh, Sabrina, this is fabulous! I love the special occasion and how you've used the wonderful Scripture verses against the brick background. I just LOVE ODBD's Scripture stamps, and my stash just keeps growing. I see you have a few yourself. This is going to be a very special card that your pastor will cherish, not only because it's from you but that you made it yourself…with love and honor for him! So glad you joined us this week for the ODBD Shining the Light challenge again! Hugs…and Happy Thanksgiving! Cheryl
