Hi, everyone! Today's Inspiration Challenge is to choose a cake from Charm City Cakes......though I was not able to copy a direct link, I chose the 'Bohemian' cake fourth row down far right. My step-brother and his new wife had a Steampunk wedding.....this card may not be 100% Steampunk, but I did the best I could with the supplies I had on hand. The birdcage from the Our Daily Bread designs 'To The Lovebirds' set and the banner from 'Banner Sentiments' were both heat embossed in copper, then cut out with the ODBD Custom 'Birdcage and Banner Dies' Set. (Two sets of the little birds were cut from the same die set.) I made two of the birdcages also....since the hinge opens, I wanted the same view from the inside. The red mats for the birdcage and banner were cut by hand. I used the same birdcage die to cut out the scripture panel, which was lined up directly with the closed birdcage. The scripture inside the cage is from the ODBD 'Love Scriptures' set. The gears on the right are by Tim Holtz, but the rest of hardware is from various companies.....stuff I've had in my stash for a long time. Some of the items did not match, so I colored them with a copper metallic pen. The designer paper is Basic Grey 'Curio', the rose ribbon is Stampin Up. I had one gear left, so I used it on the inside of the card, with two little punched hearts inside of it....you can see a photo on my blog.
Thanks so much for looking! Have a very blessed day!

Oh Angella, I know exactly your inspiration choice. That ODBD set is SO perfect for it. Well, mmm, maybe I don't know because the one I thought you'd chosen wasn't called Bohemian and I don't know which cake collection to look in.
But whatever, it's a fabby combination of steampunk and wedding glamour.

I bet you are the only one that will be giving them a themed wedding card...that's cool. One of the perks of making your own cards. Love the idea of your elements, and the hinged birdcage is amazing. Into my favs. tfs
