This card is for two challenges: the HYCCT1312 challenge The Colors of October - to make a card featuring pink, green, & yellow with a touch of something shimmery or opal looking, and the MIX37 challenge to use gridlines or hash marks on your project.
I created gridlines on the card base with various Micron markers, Wink of Stella glitter pens and a black Sharpie. I die cut the base layer with an LC die and the word die from Memory Box. It's adhered directly to the card base.
The yellow circle is a scrap of pink with brown text. I painted it with Mustard Seed Distress paint, sanded it lightly and stamped the polka dots. I touched a black Wink of Stella glitter pen to each of the dots.
The bird and branch are from a Sizzix strip die. The branch was cut from green shimmer cs and the bird from a scrap of valentine cs. I cut another bird from lightweight chipboard, colored the edge with a pink sharpie and used a glue stick to attach the patterned paper bird. His eye is a tiny black Dazzle glitter dot. They were layered over the "sun" using Crafter's Pick glue, with rolled glue dots underneath the bird's head, wings and tail, one leaf cluster, and the end of the branch.
As always, thanks for looking!

Another card that just sings . Love the colours and the wonderful contrast they are against the black. Darn, I knew I had gridlines in mind for this evening - but at this stage I'll stick to leaving some comments instead.

Gorgeous! I wish I'd thought of that for the colors of October challenge. Dang! Now I need to go make another! Thanks for taking the Mix-abilities challenge, and especially for supporting HYCCT!
