This is for a couple of challenges-today's HYCCT with words that inspire us, and the Ways to Use it to make a card using the first initial of our username. My username is mamaxsix based on the fact that I have six children. I know that it is one of the most encouraging things to me to hear one of my kids "rise up and call me blessed" or even just say something nice ;) So, I thought of my Messages for Mom sentiment-I would have used the "MOM" from that set too but it was a little big bigger than I wanted as I already had the black circle cut. I used the chalkboard technique on both sentiments.
I've loved the cards that Dini makes using the paper she places on her workspace while she's making cards. I'll admit that I actually kind of planned this one out. I had a piece that had a bit of pink and I had a brayer full of Indigo ink left over from brayering a card. I basically bounced my brayer around the cardstock piece to clean off the brayer. I added some more pink to the corners sponging through some dry wall mesh (also a trick I learned from Dinah!) and added a little solid sponging too. I double layered the ferns curling the top one for dimension. I made a brad bow with a black, glittery heart that I added a pink gem too. I wanted a bit more pink, so I pulled off the bow and spattered with watered down Melon Mambo. I rounded one corner and called it all done!

Oh my gosh what an incredible background using catch-all paper! This is fabulous. I also love the way you do your die cuts- doubling them and adding some curl. Love your card!

Wow! These colors are wonderful in every way, Gail! I never would think to use a scrap paper for my true artwork like Dini does! That takes a bit more guts than I have. Love your results though~
