This is a very lame (hence the "own goal" title) card for Anne's Football challenge over that the CCEE Stampers. This challenge has had me scratching my brains ever since I saw it: my grandfather may have been a rugby international but I don't have a sporting bone in my body.
***ETA - I was pretty sure Anne had American football in mind, but this side of the Atlantic, football IS soccer, and hey, that was a tough enough challenge already. I also made this with today's Words to Inspire You challenge over in the HYCCT forum. Lame as it is, this one is going in my box with all the others. In my mind I was substituting the word ill for old; fighting cancer (or any other illness) having an aim to reach for or a goal to aspire to can be so positive.
Anyway, I'd been going to stamp lots of footballs with one coloured one and print something like One in a Million. But then I was looking at my Verve sentiments to pick one out for a HYCCT challenge, and when I saw the word "goal" in this one, I thought I could use it with the football image. I pencilled in a grid, stamped the footballs and then erased the grid.
Check out the CCEE blog for some real scorers from the rest of the team!!

I had to do a double-take when I saw your card -- until I remembered that "football" to a great many people in the world means "soccer" to people in the U.S. That sentiment was perfect!

Glad Lois was ahead of me. I learned something today..I didn't know football also meant soccer to some of the rest of the world...see what a sports fan I am!!! Your card is, therefore, one work of perfection, Sabrina.

the sentiment was a perfect one for this challenge AND your card is truly about football.....if you think about the American version of 'football' it has little to do with the foot other than the kicks that occasionally occur.
