I found the Barnes & Noble inspiration here: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/autu...=5099990930522. Also for the branching out central theme.
Sponge watercolor piece all yellow (scattered straw), then direct to paper technique by swiping it straight over the paper creating lines in the sky section. Then sponge a little of orange inks (dried marigold and spiced marmalade) toward the top.
Mask the sky with a long sticky note to create the horizon and foreground, swipe medium brown (vintage photo) across a few times, then sponge just a touch to blend the color in slightly, remove mask.
Stamp the trees in dark red (fired brick), add black highlights with a copic multiliner. Stamp red & orange dots on trees for leaves, also masking underneath the trees and stamping dots here as fallen leaves.
Layer onto black cardstock, then onto cream card. Add kangaroo & greeting.
