This week's mixability challenge was "anything goes" so I decided to try my hand at painting a canvas. I found a hideously ugly Zodiac canvas print in the $.75 bin at M's and decided I had nothing to lose! I put a couple of layers of Gesso on. I then laid my stencil and added a thicker layer for my rays. When that had dried I decided to try tinting the Gesso for my next layer. I couldn't get it as bright as I wanted so I then used Crushed Curry by wetting a brush and picking up ink from the ink pad lid. I added some Pumpkin Pie the same way. I used a Gelly Roll pen to add more highlights. I then used 3 alphabet sets (and freehanded a couple of letters) with a black marker (I wanted to keep the letters simpler than the collage set sometimes was) and stamped onto the canvas. I filled in details with the black marker and then added gelly roll pen highlights to the letters.
