I am late in my stamping this evening. Long school day, cooking for myself and my neighbors followed by Bible club at church. Unfortunately I have need of a sympathy card for my neighbors who lost a 25 yo brother suddenly to a car accident.
I stamped my ferns rock'n rolling with Pear and Artichoke then sponging the punched squares with Old Olive and gluing them over punched larger Olive squares. I had initially rolled my Vintage wheel directly onto my card base, but kind of goofed so I rolled over the top of that again and finally rolled onto a strip of Artichoke and taped over my mess but with part of the first stamping showing. I also rather messed up the sentiment which was too faint to read well even with sponging around it to try to help out. At any rate, I stamped and punched another to put over it. I was going to just add a gem to the center, but I kept seeing a cross in there so when I saw this metal cross in my stash I put it to use. I added pearl accents to it.

This is lovely Gail! That cross in the middle is perfect and looks like it was made to go there. The ferns made a pretty but understated motif for a sympathy card. Well done.

Beautiful. The cross adds just the right touch. A keepsake for the family. It's awesome how we can make what we think of at first as a mistake and then figure out how to use it rather than disgard it. Thanks for sharing how you did that. It's inspiring. Good job with the sketch challenge. A sympathy card is always difficult to make and you made a lovely one. TFS

Wonderful sympathy card - soft soothing colours. This is a great sketch too. I love that you used the cross embellishment. Prayers for this family at the loss of their brother so tragically.
