Today's Challenge was something I struggle with: "My challenge to you is to make a card that will put a smile on someone's face. It can be a fun sentiment, a silly image or maybe some bright colors. What ever you think would make person happy when they opened up the envelope." I don't really do funny or silly, so I went with bright colors and a sentiment that could celebrate just about anything...maybe going home day, last day of chemo, final radiation, the drains FINALLY coming out or clearance to go back to a loved activity. I know I loved celebrating those days with my mom. Even though she is now dealing with metastases in her spine, she is feeling TONS better the last couple of months since going off one of the chemo meds; so much so that today she called before she and my dad left for a trip to Malta! Oh Happy Day indeed. I'm glad she's been enjoying life again even though we don't know when the cancer will choose to rear its ugly head again.
This is a 5x5 card because the stencil I used is 12x12. I sponged Crushed Curry for my main rays also using some Pumpkin Pie along the edges of these. I then shifted the stencil and sponged So Saffron, shifted again and added Daffodil Delight. I then sponged through a circle punched mask. Then it was just a simple stamped sentiment and some added gems.

Wow, Gail - what fabulous sponging and so definitely a happy-making card. I'm glad your mother is feeling well enough to travel and enjoy life more these days!
