This is a Teapot Tuesday card for Patty, a dear friend of our High Priestess Teapotter, Sheri (knurse). To let Patty know she is in our thought we were asked to bring flowers, birds, butterflies or a nature scene.
When I read those precious words "nature scene" my mind went at a million miles an hour dreaming up a nature scene of a little person, wearing a floppy hat, with a butterfly net in a garden setting. I found the perfect digi stamp, did all the sizing on the computer, chose the papers AND I did this in record time of 90 minutes.
Next step was turning the printer on......it was not working. Not to worry, DH has prepared a folder for me of how to fix everything that goes wrong when he is away, you know stuff like how to reset the pilot light on the hot water, how to open the roller door of the garage when the power goes out (gosh that is a long story for another day), how to change the ink in the computer. DH did NOT leave instructions on what to do when the printer wouldn't even turn on. Not to worry, time for Plan B.
Plan B was a card I have been thinking about for a while thanks to the inspiring cards of Peggy (jasonw1), the queen of monochromatic creations. Oh my goodness how hard is it not to add colour, I had to have a little lay down after making this. I did add an insy bit of Stickles to the butterflies and a tiny bit on the birds eye (IRL it looks like he has a glass eye - not really the look I was going for).
About the card, this is a stair step (steps are in middle section). After making the step card, I ran it through the cuttlebug using a brick EF. The butterflies are stuck on acetate so they look suspended in the air. I dry embossed the butteflies and added a bit of bling. I added the tree, gate and flourishes.
As there was no fussy cutting this week you would think there were no injuries to report...but you would be wrong. When I tried to fix the printer, I unplugged it and somehow wrapped the cord around my foot, tripped, smashed my head into the edge of the desk and was somewhat dazed for half an hour. Just when you think it can't get worse, I dropped a very large butterfly punch on my foot, I expect the swelling will go down any day now. The bruise is impressive, the colour is like a combination of TH Black Soot and Squeezed Lemonade. I didn't even use the big butterfly!!
My week can only get better....and I hope you have a wonderful week. Thank you for looking.

OMGosh, Susie! I'm sorry you injured your head and foot and feel kinda of guilty for laughing while I read your comical account of the happenings. For certain, you are a survivor of crafty mishaps! Hope your head and foot are soon better.
BEAUTIFUL card for Pattyb! The white on white is so nice. The frilly flourishes, fancy gate, flowers, bird, butterflies, brick embossing ... every detail, as always, is terrific!

Susie, this is one the prettiest cards I have ever seen. Looks like it could be the gate to Heaven. I am so impressed. I can see why you had to lay down after making it - it is truly beautiful, inspiring, and memorable. Many hugz and keep your printer turned off - LOL!
