This card was done for this week's QFTD183, Susie aka PaperPunchScissors. Susie is the sweetest ever person, and I could not even begin to case one of her cards, but this card, GIFT FROM ABOVE, card with its utter simplicity inspired me, as well as gave me a lesson in the making of it! Susie's cards, and all she shares of herself in comments, and on her blog is so refreshing, gorgeous and most times, peppered with humor that makes you laugh out loud!
This card is also for the twisted Sistahs challenge from Tater to do a card with leaves on it. As luck would have it, a friend had gotten this Tsuneiko walnut spray ink and couldn't figure out how to use it (plus I think it got clogged in the sprayer) so I brought it home, cleaned the sprayer and spritzed it over some leaves outside onto a piece of cardstock to get this cool BG look. All that was left to do was to stamp an image directly onto the BG, and a sentiment - this one word got me thinking about what that one word MEANS, and how much I have to thank God for, and became my lesson for the day.
Was a very simple card to make, yet the lesson was HUGE! Thanks for looking!!

Beautiful background, Sue! Glad you got that can a workin'! Love the sparkle! I agree with you about that one word, grateful. We need to be more of that, then our attitude changes for the better. Good lesson learned~

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. I love the image and I love your choice of words - both beautiful in their simplicity - both speak to many hearts in different ways. Thank you for this my friend. Your friendship here on SCS and through my blog is so very meaningful to me.

I'm mesmerized by your background! That looks fabulous for that one, meaningful word and simple image! There is a lot of heart in this, Sue, and it shows! What a wonderful tribute to Susie.

Grateful indeed Greenie, and every word about Susie is t-r-u-t-h, squared. Beautiful way to honor this beautiful Stamper. Love your bg, and warm colors.

What a great background, Sue! The spritzing over the leaves is so creative! Hope you had a good time scrapping yesterday! I'm still organizing my cardstock. But I see a light at the end of the tunnel.
