This is for the TLC challenge this week: Fill It Up - to take one small stamp and use it to fill in the entire background.
This card basically created itself after I had completed the background. I had so much fun with it; it just flowed out of my head onto paper.
I marked off the background in one inch squares with a pencil and first stamped (on white cs) in Butter Bar at the intersections; next I stamped the middle of the squares with Soft Cantaloupe. I had really planned on leaving it that way until I laid the tree (SB Whimsical Tree) against it - it just begged for some green in the background! That was added by filling in the blank spaces with Soft Olive.
The tree was cut twice and adhered together on the trunk and a few select spots on the limbs, so the layers have some dimension. It was adhered to the bg layer in the same fashion, using a two-way glue pen with a ballpoint tip.
The fence is a MS edge punch adhered with foam tape, and the poppystamps kitties were cut from a double layer of cs glued together before cutting. The Elizabeth Craft Design clouds were cut from a Styrofoam take-out box and attached with Scor-Tape. To finish it off I punched some hearts using a another MS edge punch, attached them to the tree with Glossy Accents, and added more Glossy accents on top for shine and dimension.
I really love how this came together - even though whimsy is something I don't do often. Maybe that needs to change, lol!
As always, thanks for looking!
