I started this last week for the CAS237 Tool Time challenge to use an edge punch. I also paired it with the F4A186 Free For All to use Gold (bonus a fall theme). The middle panel was made using my JudiKins Mica gloss inks that I bought years ago and have only used a couple of times. I played with several stamps (and colors) on black glossy paper and decided on these just gold leaves.. This product needs a lot of drying time so I put it aside trying to figure out how I was going to finish itÂ…Fast forward to this week and the TLC447 Fill It Up challenge. I got up some gold paper and randomly stamped another leaf stamp (by Delta) with versamark to fill up the gold dp and then embossed with Fine Detail Gold EP. I cut the black glossy panel and used the SU scalloped edge punch and then mounted it to my gold embossed panel. This panel was mounted to another black glossy 4.25x5.50 piece of cardstock. I cut the label from Memory Box in black glossy paper and gold embossed the Rubbernecker "Happy Birthday". I added the gold metal accessories to each side of the label. I added the gold mesh ribbon and tied two pieces to it rather than making a bow (too stiff) and I added a gold and black button from Jo AnnÂ’s to the center. This was the most difficult card I have ever tried to photograph. Everything on it is either glossy, shinny or glitters and I kept getting reflections off of everything. I tried inside and out side and then went back to inside and all I can say is THANK GOD for digital cameraÂ’s and the ability to take a bajillian pictures and have it cost you nothing but TIME!!! I canÂ’t say I am thrilled with the resultÂ…of the card or the photography but for ONCE I did a lot of combined challenges and so I am uploading it! :-)
BTW... you make a puddle with the mica ink (or inks), use your brayer to spread.. You can do this on a craft sheet or another peice of glossy card stock. You can brayer your stamp with the ink or you can apply your stamp directly to the spread out ink. The photgraph did not begin to capture how that part of it really looks.

Great job on all the challenges, Peggy! Sometimes the biggest challenge is getting a photo that shows how the creations look IRL (I'm right there with you on that one), especially with metallics! Good for you on using your Judikins mica gloss! A beautiful golden birthday card!

Hi Peggy. This is so beautiful. The tone-on-tone gold stamping is gorgeous. I think you did amazing at photographing this ... it is so difficult with shiny card stock. Love the black and gold together - so elegant. And I the mesh ribbon is gorgeous. Great job at combining so many challenges in one card!!!

This is absolutely GORGEOUS! I love the embossing on the gold layer, and the effect of the mica gloss on the glossy black cs is so pretty - I'm not familiar with the product but I think I may have to check it out. And I'm with Loll on the mesh ribbon - it's the perfect addition!

This is just stunning! That gold is just beautiful against the black background. All the time it took you to do was well worth it. Another one for my favorites gallery!

Gorgeous card, Peggy... I can only imagine how spectacular it must be IRL! It's beautiful in your photo, but I know what you mean about capturing all the sparkle and shine without adding glare and reflections. I couldn't agree more about the benefits of digital photography.
