I hadn't had a chance to play in last week's Mixed Media challenge to put color on then remove it somehow and today's challenge to use DP. I embossed my Basic Grey Print dp with the elegant lines ef. I then used direct to paper to add ink to the raised areas. I got more than I'd planned and also got some on the bg so I then took a wet brush to try to spread the ink around. When it was quite wet, I flipped my paper over to sponge some of the water off onto my scrap paper and lo and behold, I could see the design as if I'd stamped it! So I wet it again and "stamped" off the ink onto a sheet of watercolor paper. I still wanted to tame down the pink some so I then took Gesso and spread it all over the paper. Once it was dry, I embossed it again in the Tulip Frame ef and then sponged Midnight Muse ink over this. I had lost a lot of the detail of the Elegant lines, so I took a marker and redefined them. Now it was too defined so once again I took a wet brush and removed some of the ink. I stamped my sentiments, added pearls, backed with Midnight Muse and then put it onto a Smoky Slate base.

There are no mistakes with stamping, only opportunities to create something beautiful. Such as you did here! It's lovely. The petite pearls and small sentiments add just the right touches. Nicely done. TFS
