I had some time this afternoon to stamp (didn't take my usual Sunday nap) and decided to honor a past queen with whom I have much in common: Retired Navy DH's, time spent in the same part of VA and a common faith. As a result of our DH's ties to the Navy, both Roberta and I have ships and nautical cards such as this beauty in our galleries. I wasn't directly inspired by a specific card and was using a sketch from Verve but wanted to thank stampin'nana/Roberta for her inspiring gallery and kind comments.
I used the log book stamp with Soft Suede on Natural Ivory for my oval piece, sponging the edges. I stamped my Verve ship's wheel and used the matching die adding an eyelet and popping it with dimensionals. My ship was stamped on Bashful Blue in Versafine Smoky Slate and the sentiment in Midnight Muse, adding some Island Indigo sponging with the cloud template. I rounded these edges and added some sponging too. I used the Houndstooth ef on my Indigo piece.

Thank you so much, Gail for all your kind words! I feel so honored! We navy people have a special kind of bond, and even though we have never met, we still understand each other. How cool is that! As for this nautical card, well, I just love anything nautical including all the different shapes! Your sponging looks so pretty, especially the clouds and sea! And the log is really nice in the oval shape! Beautiful card, Gail! I feel very blessed today!~Hugs

Oh, what a beautiful card! I like all the texture with the embossing folder and the sponging and the background on the oval piece. Just a lovely card! I'm so glad you got some Verve goodies! I know that you will use them over and over again!
