I altered Korin's sketch by putting panel #4 behind #3 since I wanted my image to be the focus. I tried to do the card with the simplicity and somber tones with which Amish live their lives. Their quilts sometimes have one unexpected bright spot and that's why I included the red.

Very plain and simple.....just the way the Amish live their lives, Sallie! You definitely captured their style in this card~We have Old Order Mennonites living close by, and Wal-Mart has a hitching post for their horse and buggies while they shop! So serene & peaceful to see them travel~

This is simply beautiful Sallie.... I have always loved this image that looks like a courting buggie for the Amish... I have always admired the amish people for their plain life....I am reading a series of amish books right now by Shelley Shepard Gray... she is a very good writer...cant put the books down...Love your card... well done....

Sallie, this is very well done. Love the quilt panel which is an icon for the Amish. Coloring the slow moving sign with the red makes the eye follow your quilted border. Love this card. tfs

Awesome design work! Love the quilt border and love that stamp! Having had the luxury of going through an Amish home and community you captured the feel of the lifestyle beautifully!
