I live in a Sunburnt country. Heatwaves are 2nd nature in Australia, & when it gets that hot, you can see the heat emanating off the earthÂ…scary hot - I tried to capture this here. And when it gets like that, itÂ’s time to retire to the air-conditioned craft cave!
I sponged distress inks on the background watercolour card & spritzed with water. Dry & stamp silhouettes. Add glossy accents to dragonfly and wildflower heads.
Dry emboss 2 white frames (StampinÂ’ Up! Designer frames), trim around the frame & then trim the centres out; layer together for a thicker frame. Layer frame over the watercolour wildflowers.
Use sticky notes to mask a panel on the base card, then stamp ‘thanks’ repeatedly across in black ink. I added twine to disguise a bit of a gap in the stamped lines. Layer the framed wildflowers on top with foam tape.
This design is also inspired by Harriet’s gallery – several of her cards cleverly featured a simple square like this one: CC252 You Make Me Smile by hskelly at Splitcoaststampers
Love Harriets gallery!

We are blessed living in this "sunburnt country", you have captured it so beautiful Cindy. I love the distressed background and the gorgeous silhouette images. Everything about this is terrific.

Cindy, yes you captured everything so well and simply and beautifully so. My daughter visited Melbourne one winter and has been trying to get back ever since. That was in 2008.
