Nothing like sneaking in under the wire just before the NEXT TPT starts tomorrow with my tickle card. Was trying to get the DTGD cards made ad this one was patiently waiting to get done!
We were asked to do a card remembering the lazy summer days of our childhood (at least that's what I thought Faith meant), so this is my story:
We did a lot of camping when we were young - with a pop up, and my Mom made a canvas and screen "room" to zip onto the outside for more 'living space' . During the day, we would go to the beach and jump in the waves and build sand castles and dig holes, watching the fishing boats go by, etc., but our favorite thing to do was to go "exploring" for treasures in the sand along the beach - we would collect all kinds of shells, use them while making our castles, and then bring them back home with us to show our friends. Nothing more calming than walking along the shore line and watching the waves come crashing onto the beach, sometimes bringing even more wonderful things from the sea for our pleasure. About the only thing we didn't like when there were a lot of jellyfish washed ashore after a big storm!! I drew the background in and colored the water and sponged in the sun's 'rays' . So that is my memory, made into a card to send off to another teapotter this week - not very fancy, but loaded with great memories that I could share! Hope she likes it!!

I have almost the same memories of childhood, shell collecting walks on the beach and rock collecting trips to the mountains. My dad always liked the shells expeditions better as he said the rocks weighed so much the trunk would drag on the ground. How much more fun our generation had than todays kids who sit there texting the whole time they are on holidays.

Love your coloring and depth you created in the background of your silhouette - looks like you captured those good memories on this card. Peaceful just reading your story. Hugs.

Walking along - or playing on - the beach is definitely a perfect way to spend a lazy hazy summer day. Even the boat looks like the ferries we used to sometimes see out in Dublin bay. Great card, Sue.

Oh, how special to get a little story from your past and have it represented on this great card. We use to camp in a pop-up too but we did lakes and mountains - I wish we would have done the beach. Love the sky on this - you did a fabulous job on it. Thinking of you sweet friend! Hugz! Millions of them!
