This is for Dini's and Summerthyme64's Dare to Get Dirty Challenges, and for the Free for All Challenge "Girl's Best Friend".
Dawn said in her explanation for the F4A challenge that "Dogs are a man's best friend. But us girls, we want to see DIAMONDS!" Well, in my case, I'd far rather have a dog than a diamond, and in fact I have two dogs and no diamonds! So I used a stamp of a Christmas spaniel for my card, but enclosed it in a diamond-shaped die-cut so it does fulfill the terms of the challenge! The dog in the image makes me think of one of mine - Shea is the sort of dog who would get herself all tangled up in the Christmas decorations!
Shea is brown so I stamped the image with brown ink, and left it mostly un-coloured except for using Spica glitter pens on the ribbon and the bells. I matched the gold of the bells to a shimmery cs for the diamond border and the red of the ribbon to shimmery cs for the cardbase. I put a white card liner inside as the red cardbase is too dark to write on, and ran gold cord around the liner with a knot on the front to add more gold.
It's also for the SCS Christmas Card Challenge.

I love that you kept the color scheme very simple - the touch of gold in the image is perfectly balanced by the gold cord. So glad you could play along with me!!

Very festive Christmas card for a dog lover! I agree with Bonnie - clever to enclose you image in a diamond shape! I also agree with Dina about the red/gold balance - perfect!
