My father's parents came to this country in the very early 1900's from Italy. My grandmother came for an arranged marriage. she had never met anyone who wasn't Italian. She had 8 children and all but my father dated and married Italians. My father fell for an Irish girl. My grandmother had been told the Irish were dirty and when my father told her he was bringing his new girlfriend to dinner my grandmother called her "Dirty Irish" (Bridget I wish you could hear me say this the way we were told my grandmother said it - she had quite an accent). Of course once she met my mother she too fell in love with her and found out that my mother was not dirty - now look - just about 100 years later here I am being Dirty and Irish. LOL

Bahahaha, Chris, your description and family story made me laugh! I wish I could have heard your Gran say it too! So glad things have changed these days, now it seems to be fairly trendy to claim Irish roots!!! LOVE that digi with a bear rolling around in shamrocks, and your little charm is perfect! Thanks for playing along in my DTGD challenge, you dirty thing, you!
