Today Korin asked us to pick a layout from the past. I chose SC287.
I had this Serendipity backgrounder stamp out on my crafting table from yesterday and wanted to explore more ways to use it. This time I used reinkers and an aqua pen to color it. It came out quite bright and then I remembered a technique from the MIX21 challenge of toning down brights with a wash of acrylic paint. So I mixed white and aqua acrylics to make a very pale aqua color and gave the whole pattern a light wash....much better. I was aiming for an Art Nouveau feeling with lots of curls and swirls and chose a green palette with a touch of aqua.

How very clever using an acrylic white wash on your background. It creates a wonderful backdrop for the delicate dies used. Beautiful card.

Well this ended up coming out so soft and feminine, Sallie! I think I would have liked the bright too though. Your butterfly is so pretty stamped on vellum and the dies you used add such class to an already upscale creation~
