I have new goodies to play with and thought this hostess set would be perfect for the CAS challenge to do a one layer card with masking. I used Natural White cs as my base because I knew I wanted to paint my images. I cut an oval out of a sheet of sticky note and masked off the main part of the card. I sponged the oval in Soft Sky on both cards and left the mask in place as I continued. I also sponged the edges and corners of both the cards in Soft Sky.
For the floral card: I inked the full image with Versamark then Smoky Slate and embossed in clear. I then inked just the lower flower with a Versamarker and Slate marker and embossed it with clear ep too. I used a wet paint brush to pull ink from scribbled marker on acetate to paint my flowers. I masked over all the flowers and stamped the script bg in stamped off Slate,, and stamped the sentiment in Slate.
On the leaves card: I masked over the first leaves image and stamped a second and embossed them in clear. I stamped the script in stamped off Slate. I used the marker layering technique with Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive for the leaves and Rose Red and Cherry Cobbler on the buds-wetting them with some water to blend afterward. I pierced around the oval on the leaves card using the Occasions piercing guide. I used my Stampamajig to line up my sentiment and stamped in Basic Grey.
Hope you'll all join in and play along with this fun technique to make a pretty CAS card!

Two beautiful cards! What a lot of work fussy cutting the masks for the flowers and leaves! Love the paper piercing framing the ovals. I'll enjoy being inspired by your cards while you're on the CAS Design Team.

One layer cards always seem to show off more of the stampers stamping skills. These are beautiful and work that is well done.
