Like Linda (Holstein), I am a proud Wisconsinite, although I don't own any Holsteins. I'm a city girl. Things I like about Wisconsin: the seasons, our independent spirit, the Green Bay Packers, the northwoods, the Great Lakes. We're often overlooked but we like it that way.
When I was planning this card, I didn't think I had anything to do with violets. I was wrong; I do have a postoid stamp with a violet. Dang! So I may make another. The only thing I could think of doing was a card in purples and make it rather natural looking. I made some backgrounds on my Gelli Plate using purple and plum paints and a stencil that is floral. I stamped another floral stamp in black on one background and used two others for my strips. I used yesterday's sketch, turned on its side but kept the orientation of the sketch. It was nice to resurrect that SU lace background stamp.
This will be an anniversary card for my sister and brother in law this month. The main color for their wedding was shades of purple and lavender.

Linda did say colour was fine - I can imagine that not everybody has a stamp of their state flower! And this symphony in violets is perfectly lovely. The gelli plate strips are totally fascinating!

Jean, from another Wisconsinite....love this card. Your stamps really depicts a true woodland violet with the heart leaf. Your cards always reveal your artsy mind. Thanks for gracing the gallery with your creation. By the way I like a lot of things you like about Wisconsin. Happy 4th.
