Wahoo! I made it to round three of the Summer DT Search Challenges! Denise's challenge is to make a card inspired by Bobby Darrin's "Beyond the Sea".
I went to my stamp collection and found that I had nothing nautical whatsoever in my stash. I hemmed and hawed, looked through the gallery using the keywords "sea" and "nautical" and was still perplexed. I just ordered and received some new Cricut cartridges and the cartridge called "Destinations" has an image that included a lobster so I cut one. I couldn't figure out a layout using the die cut itself so I decided to use it as a mask and sponge on white cardstock. I chose Sahara Sand to represent the sand of a beach, certainly celery to signify the water, and bashful blue for the sky. The finished effect seemed serene like the sea so I chose the sentiment "Thinking of You" from Sincere Saluations. The white base was then adhered to a Sahara Sand card base.
Sometimes creating a card for a card challenge requires some creative, out-of-the-box thinking!
