The special challenge for the SCS June Christmas Card Challenge is to make a quilt card. I've never done this before so thought I'd try. I like the end result but is it ever a fiddly technique!! I have to make a large number of Christmas cards so it certainly won't be a technique I use a lot, thought I suppose I'd get faster with practice! I'm also not too happy with the slight gaps between some of my pieces!
I used two different red dps for the star, and a cream with faint red pattern dp for the background. Then I ran the whole piece through an embossing folder to give it the look of the stitching on a quilt. Because the candy canes in one of the dps have a bit of gold glitter on them, I bordered it with a gold glitter cs and then mounted it on dimensionals on a red cardbase. I strategically placed my sentiment tag over a part where I tore one of the small bits of dp!

I love your quilt card and the gaps you mention gives it texture more like stitching! I haven't done this either but I always did love this particular classic pattern and like the look of the separate pieces! It looks awesome for the holidays in red and white too!
