This week is Tickle a Teapotter week! It's our little reward for the cards we send off to deserving recipients the other weeks of the month.
This week Nancy Bear is heading up a block party to start the summer season off with a bang.
Too bad it's raining here in California. So I've taken the party to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The party is just enthralled with the sardine tank, so many little fishies in one place. Good thing they're behind some really thick glass. Now me, I'd rather watch the jellies, but you know bears, they like fish!
The bg is done with alcohol inks on a c/s that is white micro pearl. It has this wonderful yet subtle sparkle, just like the sun hitting the ocean. The fish are an embroidery pattern by Erica Fortgen. I've enlarged the pattern to 110%. I've also added another row of fins . The bubbles are two shades of blue and the eyes are red paua shell cabochons.
I've used a little CLD flourish and a Crafty Ann flourish for the seaweed.
This card will be going off to Tickle another Teapotter!

Oh my goodness, I love this! I've been to the aquarium many times. We spent our 25th wedding anniversary in Monterey and Pacific Grove many years ago. I knew exactly what your card represented - BEAUTIFUL!

Gorgeous underwater scene Jennifer!!! I thought for sure that was going to be one of your amazing shaving cream backgrounds, but how cool that you have another technique that is just as awesome, if not more so! LOVE your fabulous embroidered fishies! The way you did your seaweed is fantastic!!! Beautiful card!!!

Jennifer, you never cease to amaze! LOVE this underwater scene with your beautifully stitched "transparent" fish.....like some that you see in aquariums. Beautiful colors for the water and love the sense of movement you gave them.

That noise you just heard was my jaw hitting the table. W O W... your stitched fish are incredible. The entire card is like a work of art. I was tickled by you last month Jennifer and I smile every morning when I see it sitting on my craft desk. Someone is in for a real treat.

How beautiful this is! I can bet that using the alcohol ink on a pearl-finished card must look wonderful, and it's a great sea setting for your shoal of silver sardines, along with the green weed.
I remember going to an aquarium in Crete a few years back, and being totally mesmerised by the jellyfish. I think this card would have the same effect ;-).
