I love Fridays because the new "mix-ability" challenge comes out on that day! Today Scrapacat (Ky) challenge was play with bright colors and then tone them down a bit.
I don't have a lot of stains and inks yet so I used what I had and had a blast!
I used tumbled glass and victorian velvet TH Distress stain, then added gesso with a credit card. After it dried I stamped MFT MPD Distressed backround stamps randomly on the card. The black was too intense so I hit the card again with some watered down gesso.
I colored the MFP heart with copics and then toned the colors down with gesso since they were too vivid to go with the DP.
I created the banner using the same stains and the dotted MFT MPD Distressed backround.
Now I just need to decide if this is good enough to send to my Artist SIL!

I think this is a really cool card and turned out really nice!! I think your sil will think it's very neat too. It's such a neat technique and I bet he hasn't seen a card like that.

Definitely a work of art! Don't you love how gesso brings everything together? I really appreciate how you used a piece of the background to make the banner. Definitely send it to your SIL and encourage her to play the challenge! Awesome work!

Love the way you used those muted tones of red, white and blue! Great layout, wonderful card!
