I'm so glad I got this stamp. Another use of the brayer/multi colored inkpad with this stamp.
Stamped Craft Black on paper and then stamped off on scratch paper (you might want to use Stazon - because you can get smearing with the end bit of blender pen). Carefully cut the enter of the butterfly out of scrap so the negative was intact. Repositionable adhesive on the negative and place over the stamped image. Make sure the whole stamped paper is covered if you are a messy brayerer like me. Ink brayer up a multi color pad like Kaleidacolor and brayer 1/2 of image, re-ink , turn paper 180 degrees and ink other have of image. Volia - instant lovely shading. Super fast and easy.
I used a blender pen to fill in the small slivers at the edge of the butterfly that did not get inked from the brayer. Just touch the blender pen to the lightest pad color, fill in, touch the next lightest color . . .
You could probably do this using traditional ombre braying technique if you don't have the multi - pad. Just mask 1/2 the butterfly and work from center edge and outside edge. Then do other side the same way. Maybe a blender pen or dauber to smooth any lines in the center. Or jut color the body in black.
