This is for Color Challenge 429 - Soft Sky, Pink Pirouette and Sahara Sand. In my case, Bashful Blue, Kraft/Antique Linen and Distress Ink in I don't remember which colors, but some were pink. I know this lovely combo really begged for a soft, sweet card, and what a great palette for FLOWERS or BUTTERFLIES (which was our dessert), but I set out to do something other than either one (because I do them so much), and as much as I tried, nothing soft or sweet was forthcoming. I think it's because it's been raining down here in southernmost Florida, and we FL folks are pretty much all sunny-weather junkies. A day of rain is nice, and it's good for the plants - days of it and we starting getting a little weird.
In desperation I turned to my leftover bins, and turned up this mostly-pale-pink wrinkled Distress BG and the blue wrinkle-free one as well. I even found that strip of stamped postage edge Antique Linen. I'd already embossed my unearthly lady, and die cut the fleur de lis rectangle to go underneath her. From there it was just a matter of putting it all together. The corner scroll is Memory Box. I found the button diecut in another bin (SU Button Button). The horizontal strip went on a bit crooked, but what can you do? It's raining, people.
Thanks for looking!

Wow, Rachel, that bg is so soft, delicate and awesome! Your corner scroll SCREAMS beauty and looks so perfect with the rectangle die-cut! Perfect button and twine treatment; ya did really well considering the rain.....

Your card turned out dramatic, which I really like. The black is neat with these colors. Your bg is pretty too. I hear what you are saying about the rain. I need to see the sun every few days or I have no energy to do anything.

Love this creation and the way you put so many things together and let it evolve. The bg of Distress inks is beautiful. I know what you mean about the rain. (where in FL are you - maybe near me?)

I want to play in your leftover bin..this turned out fabulously! That image is wonderful. I thought it looked like a Paper Artsy...funky vintage. You created a great card despite the weather! (We've had tons of rain, too and it is depressing!)

This is a beauty. Some of my best cards come from my scrap bins.
