I'm probably stretching the boundaries of the challenges but I'll take a risk that they fit in.
This is my very first watercolor painting. The details:
I used regular old paper shelf paper, cut into strips of different widths and lengths, then ironed it onto the watercolor paper, shiny side down (so it's a mask). Then I did my watercolor wash, using lots of water and letting the colors flow. After it was dry, I removed the shelf paper strips, touched up a bit with gesso where the paints bled under the shelf paper, edged one side of the 'birch trees' with the Micron pen (MIX1 and then doodled (WT429) the birch tree markings.

Really beautiful! So worth all of your efforts! Though we don't want to see them in the real trees out in the forest, you should have added initials in a heart!

Oh my word, your birch trees are simply fabulous!!! They really turned out wonderful. Love this scene, but then I do have a soft spot for birch trees. hehe You sure did a fantastic job today. LOVE LOVE LOVE this! TFS :0)

Great card and so creative. I love the birch trees. A great job for the mix challenge.

I can't believe you drew those birch tree markings! They look perfect! And your use of the watercolors in the BG is gorgeous! Fabulous work!
