I've been amazed at the beautiful bg pieces people have been using that they made with their Gelli plates. Before I plopped down the $$ on another tool, I decided to try out making my own with unflavored gelatin. Once you have the solid gelatin piece it is just a matter of squirting acrylic paints and playing around! The main piece was made by rolling my Rough Texture wheel over the paint and pulling off my print. The strips were made with packing tape that I used to pull off dried paint from the bubble wrap I'd used on another print. I laid this down over my newspaper and pulled up a bit of text too. I had the tissue paper flower leftover from a previous project and the base piece was embossed over a piece of burlap. I inked my sentiment with Versamark then Concord Crush and embossed it with clear ep. I sponged some Concord on the edges of the sentiment piece as well as around the base piece. I embossed a piece of Marina Mist with the Chevron ef and sponged it with the Concord as well. I used today's sketch and accented it with some rhinestones.

Wow, there is some serious creativity going on in your studio. This is so inspired! I save bubble wrap to assist in releasing card stock from intricate dies ... it will now have dual purpose. Thanks for the inspiration!
