This card is for my guest designer spot for the Oozak challenge and the theme is Anything Goes With Earthtones.
My mixed media main panel was created by first applying three Ranger Alcohol Inks - Rust, Mushroom, Espresso, then the blending solution and last Terra Cotta alcohol ink was applied avoiding the upper left corner. The left corner was then sponged with Ranger Distress Ink – Vintage Photo using a metal template to create the design.
Ranger acrylic paint was applied to a scrunched up piece of plastic (cut up shopping bag or plastic wrap) and dabbed over a plastic template to form the squares pattern.
Using the Scor-Pal I embossed lines diagonal in the lower left corner and also embossed a design using a Cuttlebug thin folder which is barely visible in the photo but looks nice in real life.
Using a Tonic paper distresser I roughed up the edges then used the fingers to split and roll the larger areas.
The flower and stem from Memory Box – Honey Blossom Sprig was colored with Copic markers and a second die was cut apart to form second layers for the flowers smaller stems.
Copic colors: flower - YR15 with R22 over it, YR65,02,00 with R21 applied over the entire blossom. Stems – G29,28,24
The flowers are held to the card with Scrapbook Adhesive – Dodz ¼” and I also cut the Dodz apart for the smaller blossoms and Aleene’s tacky glue was used to hold down the green stems and it was also used to apply the Flower Soft to the flower center.
The Perfect Layers tools from Perfect Paper Crafting was used to cut the borders. I cut the main image border before I distressed it and to keep the two layers from separating I used both a strong hold tape and tacky glueÂ…if one gives the other will hold it.
The insert and envelope was decorated using the same stencils and Scor-Pal and I matched my distress inks up as close as possible to the alcohol inks. Not perfect but envelopes and inserts seldom match in color on commercial cards either.
