I'm back from a 3 week vacation and eager to catch up on some of the challenges I missed. I was back east visiting my mother so was able to give her the Mother's Day card I made for her in person. But didn't get a chance to post it in the Free for All challenge (M is for Mother) until now.
The blue background was done at a class on Distress inks. Plain cardstock was covered with various blue and green Distress inks, then tapped it with Versamark and sprinkled with clear embossing powder and heated. When I came home from the class, I added the Elements of Style flourishes and the happy mother's day sentiment with Staz-On black ink, then topped it with a vintage clip art image of a little girl. I mounted it on black cs with a punched edge that echoes the stamped flourishes, then mounted that on a cream cardbase, added the Love You sentiment on the bottom, and finished it off with a few pearls.
