I made this card for a co-worker's birthday this week. I wanted to put in the CAS challenged this week (to convey a sentiment without using words), but I don't think anyone would call this CAS, lol! But he's just so stinkin' CUTE!
I stamped the Stampabilities Beary Nice Celebration on white CS using VersaMark and embossed with dark brown ep. I really didn't think it would work that well, but as you can see, I got a great image!
The bear is colored with regular watercolor pencils; everything else is shimmer watercolors, with a really heavy layer on the ribbons. I went over every other one with a metallic colored pencil to deepen the color a bit.
There was a slight "uh-oh" on the right edge of the image, and the more I tried to fix it, the worse it got. No choice but to trim it all around to try to keep the ratio. Sooo... I also trimmed the David Tutera glitter card base to size, and ended up with a small card ( about 3.25 x 4.75), but I think it adds to the cute factor. I chose not to put in any kind of shading for a floor, I really like the way it pops as it is...
As always, thanks for looking!
