This is for Color Challenge 425 - Blushing Bride, Pink Pirouette and Basic Gray. Dessert was to use a flower motif (do I ever use anything else?) and add a green of choice (again, everlastingly guilty as charged). So, two shades of pink and a gray. I stamped my new Paper Artsy Daisy stamp in Memento Tuxedo Black and painted it using Worn Lipstick Distress Ink for the petals, Antique Linen for the center, and Crushed Olive for the stem. (Love a pink daisy!) Then I did a wash of Pumice Stone around the flower, let dry, masked, and overstamped with IO's Cover-A-Card in Spatter, again using the Pumice Stone. Die cut and mounted on Gina K Innocent Pink CS. The BG is Gina K Moonlit Fog stamped in Memories Unicorn with my Music Cover-A-Card. Card front wrapped in green and white twine, and mounted on Aqua Mist - and you had to have seen that coming; I seem to have decided some time ago that the card base is not considered bound by the challenge constraints. I do try, I really was planning to mount this on Moonlit Fog, but in the end if something else makes the card front pop better, it usually gets the nod.
Really lovely combo this week -
Thanks for looking!

I concur with your thoughts on the color of the card base. I love what you've done here!

I had to laugh at your thoughts on card bases! It never occurred to me to deviate from the challenge. Your flower is beautiful with all its sweet shading, Rachel!

Great musical score bg stamped on the gray..interesting and not totally unexpected mounted on aqua (it does give it just the right somethin' somethin')..that daisy stamp is awesome (I have a few Paper Artsy..they're great!)...wonderful coloring and insanely splattered bg (and I mean that in a good way)..love the green twine...unique and wonderful card Rachel ;)

Your card is gorgeous!! I love the technique you used. I had the same reaction as you: a flower for desert?? I always like to make it the main course. And as for your unique card base, I like your individuality. :>)
