Becky has chosen some of my favorite colors today for the color challenge-I am sad to see River Rock and Baja Breeze on the retirement list along with Night of Navy (Island Indigo and Midnight Muse are good substitutes for this) so I am gladly playing along today though I didn't get dessert which is stripes. I started with a piece of River Rock dp with text on it. I inked up the negative side of my TH Pocket Watch ef with Baja Breeze ink before embossing. I then distressed the edges and sponged them and the raised areas with some River Rock. I stamped my Baja panel with NQN with some of the background images stamped off. I did the same on the sentiment banner and notched the end with a 1"square punch (my tip-draw a pencil line on your back side along the halfway mark to be sure to line up your angle correctly). My cog pieces come from my local hardware store, but they're too shiny so I emboss them in my custom ep mix of gold, copper, silver, pewter and black by pressing them into my Versamark pad and dunking them into my mixture. I added a twine bow (also from the hardware store) and this panel is popped on dimensionals as is the tail of my banner.
I'm sitting here waiting for the dr's office to call back with my biopsy results and man it sure seems to be taking FOREVER! *That seemed like a long time to wait, but the nurse called back to say that though the dr. had not yet reviewed the report, she could tell me that it was "nothing scary"! My mom's scans yesterday showed no new metastases so I am feeling doubly blessed today!

A lot of work went into this masculine card and surely did pay off in a big way. I love all the details and the way you used each color. Thanks for playing today and I surely hope your biopsy report is a good one. Blessings.

Sounds like you will be getting some good news here soon then, Gail. : ) On to the card: So I can hear it now, "Honey, I need to go to the hardware store." He says, "What for?" And you answer, "I'm running low on stamp supplies for my cards." Ha ha ha Hey, whatever works for you, right! Nice manly birthday card~
