This card is for the F4A165 "Pin it" challenge, to use a pin or be inspired by a pinterest photo by Dawn and for the MIX12 challenge of mixing warm and cool tones of color along with mixed media by Dini...thank you for sharing your amazing video!!!
I used a little bubble wrap and some blue acrylic paint to make the sky background and although it really doesn't show on the photo, I also used some watercolor crayons (perfect plum and pretty in pink) with lots of water to give the sky a little more color. That is why the white clouds look white : )
Then I made the grass by brayering some green onto an old scratched up big shot plate and then pressed the lower half of my card onto the plate. But it didn't show up as much as I would have liked. So, I decided to experiment, I had some green chalk...the kind for the sidewalk. I had hubby crush it for me and then I added some Elmer's glue to bind it. that is what is on the very bottom of the card. It added some texture too.
I used more acrylic paint for the sun and the dandelions. I used a pencil eraser to make the larger dandelions and a pointed cotton applicator for the smaller ones.
The green die cut was a RAK from a dear SCS friend and I adhered mulberry flowers that I colored with Copic markers. I made the stick pin with some beads and Glossy Accents...that is the best way to adhere them!
The stamp is My Heart Stamps for You and I did add the dots and lines...which may have been over kill, but it was looking a little too heavy in the lower left corner, so I tried : )
Thanks so much for the challenges, they really do push me and thanks for taking a peek!

Oh my gosh Kathleen this is like a mini work of art. Thank you for such a great description too, I'm still getting my head around mixed media, and descriptions like yours are truly appreciated. I love that your hubby helped with the "technical" stuff. Wonderful card!!!

How fun is this! I love that you just tried stuff, and made it work for you. Now I'm curious to dig out the old plates from my other diecutting machine and try monoprinting... you could maybe try making the lighter area into distant hills with a little masking and sponging! So glad you played along, and thanks for your fun comments on my cards!!

Your creative juices are flowing again, Kathleen! I love this card, it's just so HAPPY! How clever to use crushed chalk ( and a BG plate) for the grass in the foreground. And I love your stickpin. I wish I could see this IRL!
