This week's You Can Do It challenge was to make a background using the straw blowing or blow art technique. It's pretty messy, but a lot of fun and has so much potential for pretty backgrounds. However, there are a few difficult things about it, including making sure your background is totally dry before stamping your image. The black ink soaked into the first two I made and I actually had to throw the first one out as the paper started blotching and coming apart. You can tell from this one (attempt No. 2) that the black ink was absorbed into the bg but I still think it looks okay since the colors of the bg turned out pretty.
Another problem is that it is difficult to get a photograph to show the soft subtle colors of the bg. These are much prettier IRL.

Val, I love the brilliant colours you used here! I've just got to try that straw blowing technique, but I don't have any straws at home right now and too sick to go shopping! Such a beautiful background and the stamping looks fine too!
